my sister asked me to make some dog cookies for a dog birthday. i knew i wanted to use peanutbutter. i picked up some really good local organic milk. BUT i forgot to use it until after they were already baked. because of this, i couldn’t get them to roll out to press into dog biscuit shapes so i wet my hands & rolled each into an inch sized ball. there is a lot of peanutbutter in there. these are really healthy & natural. the dogs LOVE them for obvious reasons.

*please introduce your dog slowly to these if they aren’t used to bran, flax & wheat.

-i jar crunchy natural peanut butter-NO sugar-check the label
-1/2 cup crisco (or butter if you can afford it, OR bacon grease…)
-2 eggs
-1/2 cup bran
-1/2 cup ground flax
-2 cups wheat flour
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon baking powder

cream pb & crisco, add eggs & beat, stir in flax & bran. throw the salt in & gradually add the flour. roll them up.
bake 20 minutes at 350.

i might give these another try with milk & cut them out. rolling takes a lot more time. they also would need 30 minutes to bake.
